Proper preparation is very important for quality results.

Some basic prep work is required prior to dipping. Some things like liners or matting inside a vehicle create a huge mess and require extra time for dipping and clean up.

We will always inspect your projects and give you the best advise and options we have. If an item isn't prepared properly we can't dip it. In this situation we can usually finish the prep for an additional fee or you may take it home, finish the prep, and being it back another time.

Below we list the most common concerns we see with regards to preparation prior to dipping.

  • Wood in the frame or parts

  • Matting inside car body

  • Door hinges not removed

  • Aluminum identification tags not removed (almuninum will be destroyed)

  • Springs not removed (springs can only go in the acid for few hours)

Remove Aluminum VIN tags

Most VIN tags are aluminum and will be destroyed if left on the vehicle.

We try to look for these and catch them before going into the tanks.

However, if having it is important to you please remove before bringing our project to us.

Interior Matting

All (or as much as possible) interior matting should be removed.

Leaving matting inside the body will hinder our cleaning process from fully cleaning your car body.

It also creates a huge mess in our tanks and wash area.

If matting is not removed prior to leaving your project with us we will asses an additional fee for us to remove it.

Minimum Fee $50

Remove all Wood

Dipping anything with wood attached to it isn't a good idea.  The wood will soak up our solution and hold it like a sponge.  First of all, this ruins the wood.  Secondly, the areas where the wood is attached to the metal we can't fully clean and neutrualize.

Not many vehicles have this conern to begin with.  However, if you have an older vehicle with wood somewhere in it dipping might not be for you.

We can still dip a car body with wood inside as noted in this photo.  However, you need to be prepared to the issues you'll have to deal with later.

Door Hinges

It's best to remove all door hinges.

We can dip a car or pickup cab with door hinges in.

We do not suggest this because it blocks us from fully cleaning and rinsing the behind the hinges.
